About Copper Ridge

Approved by Colorado Springs City Council on May 11, 2010.

The Copper Ridge project area is located at one of the Colorado Springs’ key northern interchanges – Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard. Construction of the remaining segment of Powers Boulevard connecting State Highway 83 and Interstate 25 will ensure that this strategic location is well positioned to accommodate a region-serving commercial center, with upscale retail, restaurant, hotel, office and entertainment uses. Unlike the Authority’s role in other urban renewal areas, its role in Copper Ridge is limited to administration of Tax Increment revenues. Because the principal objective within the Copper Ridge Urban Renewal Area is construction of a region-serving roadway, the City of Colorado Springs, through its Public Works Department, will take the leadership role in advancing the intent of the urban renewal plan.
